Publication Jewish Rezekne is out

Opening of the publication will take place on 12 April, 17:00 at Žanis Lipke Memorial and on 13 April, 14:00 at Rezekne Green Synagogue.

Until now, there has been little research on the history of Jews in Rezekne. The reconstruction project of the Rezekne Green synagogue has served as an impulse for the exhibition developers to expand their works both in terms of the researchers engaged thus far and the scope of the subject matter.

The publication consists of two symbolically equivalent parts.

The first part shows the reconstruction of the Rezekne Green synagogue through the eyes of the architects, designers and content creators. The second part consists of 12 essays on the history of the Jews in both Rezekne and Latgale region.

The two-year project, which comprised opening of the exhibition of Rezekne Green synagogue, organizing the conference Jewish Rezekne, and making a reserch, has successfully completed with the first publication devoted to history and social memory of the Jews in Rezekne.
